Ah, that probably explains the airplane situation as well. Last straw as it were.Originally posted by Stephanie Belser View Post
Retiring.
I asked my brother about what it was like to be retired. He said he was so busy being retired that he didn't know how he got anything done while he was working full-time.Last edited by Russell Holton; 02-15-2018, 21:08.

While I was in college, I did my fair share of drinking followed the next morning by groaning, but that was long before drones.

My guess is you are right about this being NJ overreach.... and that there is some Federal preemption as to regulation - although there seems to be a wildly divergent set of opinions in the wake of FAA's defeat on drone regs at the Court of Appeals in DC....
Here is a link to a local (NW, Washington State) outfit that helps municipal governments decide what they can and can't do on a wide variety of subjects, including drones....

Depends. I know there's still aspects of airplane operation that the states can still regulate - such as banning advertising banners. Still, I get your point. This one does seem to infringe on the Fed's regulation.Originally posted by Stephanie Belser View PostI'm wondering if any of those laws are valid. The states don't get to regulate operating airplanes, so why do they get to regulate operating drones?
Doing a quick hunt, I did find this article from last year: Man gets 30 days in jail for drone crash that knocked woman unconscious
I do know enough about law to know the details matter, so: STATE OF NEW JERSEY SENATE, No. 3370
