Netflix has debuted a well-produced documentary called Spitfire: The Plane that Saved the World. It features history as far back as the Schneider Cup races; commentaries by BoB veterans and ladies of the Air Transport Auxiliary; and appearances by several currently active Spits, beautifully filmed. Check it out.

Interesting plane, recall flying that one we had in the CAF, IIRC it was a Mk. IV, thing I remember the best/most was the stick had a circular hoop/grip at it's top.
