I was watching the You Tube coverage of Oshkosh 2022 airshow.
It seems that the f-35 could not do a full aerobatic routine as the box was too small. Hmm, so the F/A-18, F-15E, and A-10, and maybe others were able to do do their performance in the small box, but the new top of the line, best air to air aircraft ever made could not maneuver in the same box?????????

Use a flawed design to bankrupt the enemies. Keep claiming we're moving forward with F-35 while diverting the funds to a better secret design.Originally posted by Dave Siciliano View PostWell, since known enemies seem to copy our latest designs pretty quickly, maybe we can wish the 35 on them with some known quirks.

Oh, and due to this, the C model (Navy), cannot make super sonic intercepts. Hmm, one size fits all??????? NOT.

Maybe they need a 19 year old Warrant Officer to show them how it's done. They were pretty good in Vietnam. ROFLOriginally posted by Terry Carraway View Post

Woohoo, seems the mixed up Inconel and Titanium fasteners, and put the wrong ones in.
Hundreds of F-35s could have the wrong fasteners in “critical areas,” according to the Defense Contract Management Agency.
Interesting, yes, they might be "visually similar" but the workers should have known when they picked one up it was not correct based on weight. Inconel is around double the density of titanium.

Lipstick on a pig.
A POS.
It may have had a place in a mix of aircraft, but they wanted one peg to fit into all holes, and ended up with turd that doesn't fit any holes.

I wonder what the cost to build an F-35, once it's unburdened from development costs? I suspect the development is a major part of it's "price tag". Which of course means that the fewer you build, the more obscene the price tag is.
Maybe the best use of them would be to make China think we're building a bunch of them so they'll bankrupt themselves trying to keep up.

I suspect the F-35, if/when fully developed, could be an amazing element in our tool box. But . . . it is obscenely beyond cost effective. Political pressures precipitated a really bad decision on the use of our taxpayer dollars.
I expect that within ten years or so our need to reach out and touch someone will be done increasing with, un-personed, remotely operated craft. Both air, sea and land.
