    I was in the parking lot of the local library. It shot a few landings and went away. I haven't seen one since I left the Navy.

      They have been producing at least 6 E-2s per year since 1960. They are at the the E-2D now which is a quantum jump from the E-2C. The E-2 ready room on the carrier now includes a SCIF just to compete the briefings. It's an awesome weapon system.

              Really??

              I would think the Captain would have the clearance level for SCIF access.

              And the SCIFs I am familiar with, almost anyone can have access, if escorted, you need a specific clearance for unescorted access to some SCIFs.

                The Captain doesn't have the clearance (or the need to know).

                    The Captain is fully responsible for everything related to his/her ship. If there is not commensurate authority, the Captain's job is impossible. BT DT in a civilian management situation.
