I don't know how that's going to work in an hostile EW environment, when/if we're fighting an enemy whose technical expertise goes well beyond IEDs and Kalashnikovs.
There was a piece, years ago, that talked about how most of the major European powers had gotten experience fighting natives and rebellions in their colonies, only to be unpleasantly surprised about the reality of peer-to-peer warfare in 1914. I fear that we will be in for a similar rude awakening.
