If you have a need to learn G1000 operation, I ran across a neat set of apps for iPad. SIMiONIC makes a PFD and MFD simulators. You can run the two on two iPads and they connect and talk via your network.
You do not need recent iPads. I am running it on a Gen 9 iPad and a Gen 2 Mini
You can even "fly" the PFD by tilting the iPad running the PFD.
