I think there's little more to this story than is being told. Undoubtedly, it interfered with operations. But had the helicopter decided to run, I doubt if the drone could keep up. Unless that school parking lot had already been set up for operations, I suspect the landing was part of capturing the drone rather than purely a safety response. Then of course there's the question of how they apprehended it.

It seems they followed it down to an elementary school parking lot and retrieved it after the operator ran. They have identified the operator, and I'll bet they'll have a chat.
