  • Boeing Nightmare Continues

    Boeing nightmare continues.

It's almost criminal when one of the world's greatest engineering companies end up like this.

Boeing Commercial lost its way a long, long time ago. Many say it goes back to the McDonnell-Douglas deal; others say it came when Phil Condit (Some say it was Mrs. Condit) moved the corporate headquarters to Chicago. The engineers stayed in the Puget Sound area where the airplanes are born (This is pre-Greenville) and lost their seat at the Suits' Table. I'll note that AFAIK to this day, the KC-46 fiasco is still run by Commercial and not Military, who have only "consulted" on the program.

      Best,
      Andy

I take the move as a demonstration that lobbying is more important than designing and building great aircraft.

They used to have a large building in Rosslyn. It was right next door to my building.

Indeed. Alas, also the CEO and top management. I was intending to be 100% sarcastic from the get-go.
