Nope, Carnival Legend. Baltimore (except due to bridge, left Norfolk) to Barcelona. Friend got an super offer. Inside cabins started at 5. As in FIVE DOLLARS per person.

We did a suite at $500 per person, but got back $100 per person in OBC. Then I won about $360 at the casino.

Excellent. Glad you could do that. We've got 3 weeks shipboard in November, looking forward to it.

I cannot imagine going on an ocean voyage and paying to be stuck on a ship for X number of days (or weeks). Point A to Point B over water... that's what airplanes were invented for.

Yeah, at least they paid us to do that! OTOH, he didn't have to stand mid-watches, be Boat Officer or write anyone's Evals.

I suspect the accomodations were probably better, too.

As was the food. And entertainment. And amenities.

My Dad (carrier ASW pilot) said similar things before we drug him on a cruise. Afterwards, he said, "that was actually fun. Much better than the Navy." "D

Update on panel. It looks like another 3 weeks. Left and center panels are cut and undergoing test fitting. CB (Right panel) is in final stages. Next they will connect up the avionics and start testing and configuration while the panels are powder coated and etched.

This panel is the proverbial 10 pounds of avionics in a 5 pound Mooney panel. There is ONE space of about 2x2 that is not currently used.

First pic is the left side panel. G-5 and GFC-507 (AP controller) are sitting in place. The space between the G3X and radio stack above the holes for switches is the only free space.
Second is the radio stack. PS Engineering 450B, GTN-750Xi, GTN-650Xi. Reason for both is that I had the 650Xi and the delta to replace with a more basic box wasn't worth it.
Third is right side showing hole for 7" G3X. I guess technically there is a bit of space to the left of the yoke.

I wonder what we can suggest to put in there? Maybe one of those sound effect things for shooting things in the way?

                              IT'S ALIVE.

The avionics have been powered on. No magic smoke released. Programming and configuration is underway

Must have shrink wrap over the connections to keep the smoke it.
